The Evangelists and the Body

These questions are a follow-up to the sermon "Evangelists and the Body", preached on April 21st by Rev. Chris.

1. How would you describe the role of the Evangelist within the Body of Christ? Is there a difference between the Evangelist, and Preachers of the Gospel?
2. What does it mean to be an Evangelical church? Who within the Body of Christ, are to be Evangelistic?
   

Read - Acts 8: 4-8 & Acts 8: 26-40

1. Why was Philip known as Philip “The Evangelist”? What set Philip apart for this ministry? How was Philip able to be the touch of God to others?
2. What are the difficulties for Evangelists today? What are ways that the other members of the church can support the Evangelist?

Read - Romans 10: 14-15

1. How do you react when you hear the word “evangelism”? Why?
2. How are you using your gifts to support the evangelistic efforts of the church?

Read - 1 Peter 3: 15

1. Are you comfortable with sharing the reason for the hope you have in Jesus? Why or why not? 

 
Follow up: Take time this week to write out your testimony and then become familiar with it. This practice will help you to become more prepared to share the reason for your hope in Christ.
