Originally from Arkansas, John Schaffner first came to Winnipeg to do youth ministry in the summer of 1996 and fell in love with the city.
"Winnipeg is a special place and we are praying for God to move in our city, especially in the wake of this pandemic," he says. John spent over ten years working in university ministry in the States before returning to Winnipeg in 2016. He and his wife, Amy, have three children: Sadie, Jack, and Walt. John received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech and a Masters of Divinity degree from the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta. |
