We are so close… the original project timetable called for a mid October completion but the temperatures are feeling more like November. We are just awaiting delivery of the final pieces for the chimney from the manufacturer in eastern Canada. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for this large project. Temporary heating is in place for the Thanksgiving weekend.
As you can see from the picture, most pieces of the venting have been received but a few key pieces are yet to arrive. Once the chimney sleeve is in place and final inspections and approvals are received, we can Turn Up The Heat!

Phase 2 August 26 until Sept 30
Installation work restarted August 26 and will continue until installation is complete in late September. All electrical hook wiring and control work will be done in this period. However, the most important component the chimney connections to the boiler and new chimney liner will be installed in September. Unfortunately, the chimney components are delayed but will arrive by Sept 15 to allow all work to be complete by end of September. Full commissioning and heat turn on is planned for October 2019.
The picture taken in the last couple of days shows the the pipes from the new boiler to the new drainage hole in the floor.

We are still awaiting the arrival of the chimney liners so that the work can get finished and the final tests can be done before we fire up the new Boiler.
August 28th 2019
We are getting there!
Weekly Update:
I know there is a chill in the air these last couple of mornings. Al Whicker told me he is using his heaters in the cottage. I put my furnace on this morning to take the chill off the house. The work continues this week, after J H Hansen and Sons being away from the project due to the very successul Vacation Bible School. There was alot of
banging going on in the boiler room so now the
the burners (where the gas comes in) have been installed in the front of the furnace this week.
If you look at the front of the boiler from this week's picture to last week's picture you see them. Lots of progress - we are going to need some heat in the church soon!
Everyone is invited for a Toonie lunch after the 10:30 service on Sunday September 22 to view and commission this major improvement for our home of worship. We look forward to seeing you there!

August 14th 2019 The Fire Commissioner was here the last week of July 29th for a pressure test; one of many inspections to done; - we passed with flying colours! The work continues this week on the boiler - J Hansen are working diligently putting the pieces together for the new boiler. I can hear the blow torch working and they had a huge wrench to put it together. (it's four feet long !) (Picture above) The boiler looks better now that the skin is on - It's a beautiful blue colour! the picture does not do it justice. ! two pictures - It's getting done! Hansen says it only had six sections. Those guys have been so helpful in letting me take pictures for the webpage. ! We are still waiting for the chimney liner to arrive. Work is going well and we are on schedule . The contractors will be taking next week off for the Vacation Bible School; but will be back on August 26th to finish up; as will the electricians will be coming in to do their work to connect the boiler. Thank you for your continued support! |
