A Word From Our Pastor-
September 2013
Our Vision and Supporting Sermon Series
At St Aidan’s we want to know our Real God, work to be a Real Church and live Real Lives as Christians; God’s children. This means that we want to know Jesus Christ personally, to imitate Him in our lives and to proclaim Him with our words. (Real God, Real Church, Real Lives).
This Vision focuses on our relationship with and knowledge of God which will lead to our understanding of who we and the Church are which then directs our actions and mission. We acknowledge that God’s doing comes from His being and so too our doing comes from our being; we are therefore to be imitators of God, being transformed and perfected by our Saviour (Hebrews 12: 1, Romans 12:1). As we look to God we become more like Him (our being) which effects what we do (our doing).
We are currently working our way through a series of talks in our Sunday morning services to help us with this focus. We are looking to God and His written Word (the Bible) to encourage the Church to know God. Supporting this series of talks are follow up notes to be used in the week by individuals and/or small/house groups. The notes will help further thought and study. Both the talks and notes are available on our website (click here).
