“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Mathew 28:19-20)
What is the Mission of the church? The Mission of the church is to make known Jesus Christ to the world. This is achieved by taking the gospel to humanity made in the image of God, for the glory of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit until Christ returns. We as children of God have an incredibly honorable responsibility to help reconcile the fallen world to their Lord and Creator. As Spirit filled followers of Christ we have all been given the authority and power to reach the lost with the Good News of salvation through Christ alone.
Our Mission can come in many different forms which can include:
Evangelism
Church Planting
Encouraging and Equipping the Saints
Discipleship
Helping the Afflicted
Global Initiatives
However, it is essential that whatever means we do use is rooted in the Mission that Jesus has commissioned for HIS church.
St. Aidan’s is excited to have begun their journey into intentional Mission both within the community and the surrounding city with initiatives that are focused on fulfilling the Great Commission while glorifying Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
