PREACHER'S BLOG ON THE SERMON TOPIC -THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH - MORE THAN JUST A BUILDING’
By Rev. Ruemu, Rector, St. Aidan’s Church, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. Text: Galatians 6:10 (NIV) - "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." I. The Foundation: We Are Family (The Identity)-(Gal. 6:10; Gal. 3:26-28, Eph.2:19). How? . II. The Characteristics: What Our Household Looks Like (The Culture)-What? (John 13:34-35, Gal. 6:2, Rom.12:15, Acts 2:42, Eph. 4:5). and hold each other accountable to walk in the light of Christ, motivated by love and a desire for each other's holiness. III. THE RESPONSIBILITY: LIVING AS FAMILY MEMBERS (THE PRACTICE)-How? (Gal. 6:10, Eph. 4:3, 8-12, 1st Pet. 4:10, Rom. 12:6-8, Matt. 18:15-17) TAKE HOME POINT: The "household of faith" is not a quaint metaphor; it is the living, breathing reality of the Church. We are bound together by the blood of Christ, children of the same Father, called to live as a true spiritual family. This means radical love, mutual support, genuine fellowship, and faithful accountability. It means prioritizing each other, seeking unity, using our gifts, and pursuing reconciliation. Let us leave here today not just as individuals who believe, but as committed members of God's household. Let us actively "do good" to one another, especially within these walls and this community of faith. Let our love for each other be so evident, so tangible, that the world looks on and says, "See how they love one another! They must truly belong to Christ." Comments are closed.
