Delight in the Lord

What Do You Really Love?
(Follow up questions from the Sermon on March 2nd by Stew Pierce) 
Read Psalm 37;4 and John15;4,5.  

1. How do you presently delight in the Lord?  Can you identify in your life any practices or habits that reflect your taking delight in the Lord?
2. In the sermon 5 habits were mentioned that would help us in delighting in the Lord consisting of: 1 daily devotional practice, 2. Prayer, 3. Corporate Worship, 4. Small Fellowship Groups, 5. Walking in God's Power. This was by no means an exhaustive list.   What other habits can you identify that would help us at St. Aidan's to delight in the Lord?  What personal habits have you incorporated into your Christian life that help you to delight in the Lord? 
3. Read Proverbs 27;3.  What do you delight in? What do you really love?  Are there any interests, hobbies or distractions in your life that take you away from loving God.
4. As a prayer of Confession I invite you to read and reflect on the Confession set out below that is taken from Morning Prayer, P4 in the Book of Common Prayer.  Ask yourself in what way have you followed too much the devices and desires of your own heart?
   Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.  We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done, and there is no health in us.
