A special Christmas message from Pastor Dave...
The Present of the Presence of Peace
Have you ever opened a gift at Christmas and been totally overwhelmed with surprise, joy and gratitude? You’ve just received a ‘wow’ gift. It doesn’t happen often but it is wonderful when it does and it is a gift that keeps giving joy even after the event. My ‘wow’ gift was a bow and set of snow shoes, pretty amazing! What’s yours? The reality of Christmas though is a zillion times better. We celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. His life, death and resurrection amount to a gift from God called ‘Grace.’ Grace literally means a free and unmerited gift. This Grace means that we can renew our relationship with God, we can have peace with God and the peace of God in our hearts, minds and lives. In a world that knows little of peace this is indeed a ‘wow’ gift. The present of the presence of the Prince of Peace, Jesus, means that we can have this peace both now and for eternity. Join us during Advent and especially at our Carol and Christmas Services to understand how to receive this gift and what it means. Be blessed and hear the truth that, “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows,” James 1: 17 |
